Bethlin Rose Harmon was born to Frank and Yvonne Judd in Portland, Oregon, where she attended school, graduating from Franklin High School. She attended Cascade College for one year, then transferred to George Fox College, graduating in 1952 with a bachelor of arts degree. She taught elementary classes in Sherwood, Sandy, and Milwaukie, Oregon.
ethlin was a devoted mom and pastor’s wife throughout her life. As a teenager, she played the piano in church and continued in college, where she accompanied many singers. She also enjoyed singing in the college choir under the direction of Roy Clark.
ethlin loved to travel and was able to visit all of the fifty states plus more than thirty other countries! She visited missionaries in Bolivia, Peru, China, India, Bangladesh, and Morocco. Israel was her favorite of all the countries she visited, inspired by the land where Jesus lived.
ethlin accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was young and lived a joyful Christian life, eager to share the good news to others. She enjoyed reading the Bible and Christian books. She looked forward to the Lord coming again!
ethlin married Howard on March 3, 1951; they celebrated their love for each other over these past 67 years. She is survived by her husband; sisters Dorothy Haveman and Virginia Hardy; daughter Marilyn Harmon; son, H. David Harmon; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by both parents; brother, Carl Judd; sister Lavelle Steiger; and daughter Judy Harmon.
